The Lunar Venus 580/6 is not just a new model for 2015 but the whole Venus range has been completely redesigned for 2015 season. Stylish exterior graphics and grey locker door, skirts and wheel spats make it look just a little out of the ordinary.

With six berths, two of them fixed berths, interior space can be at a premium but there is good use of the space available with the shower room in the offside rear corner. It has a round shower pod and half round door, a contemporary washbasin with a cupboard under it and an offside Thetford toilet (no need to take it through the awning).

The kitchen is on the near side and has a three-burner gas hob with a combi-oven and grill. The laminated worktop is Crystal in which there is a round sink.

In a six berth layout with six people on-board living and dining areas merge into one; the free-standing table is kept in a small cupboard in the kitchen, but no way will it accommodate six people, so the side dinette area will be called into action. It may not be practical or possible for six people to sit on the sofas so again the side dinette is likely to be used.

Sleeping arrangements will depend upon the number of people and ages of the children using the caravan; some parents may not want their very young children using the bunks, whereas some children might indeed want to use the bunks!

Green credentials include LED lighting throughout, as is the awning light.

There is one blown air vent in the shower room and two in the main body of the caravan as part of the Truma space heating and hot water system.

Verdict

The model we saw had the optional Plus Pack fitted and that makes this caravan a stylish six-berth caravan, with good looks on the exterior and the interior, at a good price. If you add extra security features like the AL-KO Secure Wheel Lock this may well reflect in the cost to insure this caravan.
