This film documents the aftermath of the devastating floods in Himachal Pradesh, triggered by extreme monsoon rains, cloudbursts and glacial melt that caused the Beas River and its tributaries to swell beyond capacity.

Regions including Manali, Tirthan Valley, Sainj Valley, Mandi, Pandoh and Kaza suffered extensive damage — with roads, bridges, schools and healthcare facilities destroyed, livelihoods disrupted, and families displaced. The region’s fragile
geography and blocked natural water flows further intensified the impact, making rescue and relief efforts especially challenging.

In response, MakeMyTrip Foundation mobilised swiftly, working in close coordination with the District Administration in Kaza and Kullu, the Rotary Club in Manali, and the Hotel Association and Adventure Tour Operators. Relief efforts focused on both
immediate humanitarian needs and long-term recovery — supporting communities as they worked towards restoring normalcy and rebuilding resilient futures.

This film highlights the importance of collective responsibility during times of crisis, and the role of sustained action in enabling recovery, dignity and sustainable development for vulnerable communities.
