What if Beyoncé's “Flaws and All” was a song about a complicated relationship with God? And “Survivor” spoke to how Black women thrive even as they’re undervalued and underestimated? Beyoncé Mass is a womanist worship service that uses the music and personal life of Beyoncé as a tool to foster an empowering conversation about Black women—their lives, their bodies, and their voices. We are delighted to welcome Beyoncé Mass curator Rev. Yolanda Norton, H. Eugene Farlough Chair of Black Church Studies at San Francisco Theological Seminary in conversation with Pastor Amy Roon, UCUCC, to talk about this groundbreaking spiritual experience which debuted in 2018 and has since has gathered thousands of people at worship services from Harlem, to Southern California to Portugal, and most recently, before the shut down in March, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC.
