English Civil War Battle Report (Pike & Shotte) 05 - The Battle of Higham on the Hill

Welcome to another English Civil War Battle Report - we are once again using the Pike and Shotte rules by Warlord Games. We have set up a fictional scenario set in 1643.

The Parliament have set their sights on the village of Higham on the Hill due to its proximity to Oxford. They have sent a force under the command of Major General Samuel Feargod to take it. Local landowner Sir Thomas Hollingworth has had his estates on his land for generations and he is a staunch supporter of the King. With news of a parliamentarian army on its way he raises defences and rolls out his men to see off the upstart followers of Parliament.

Once again i'll be using the Royalist forces of the Early Oxford Army while Miller leads the army of Parliament under the Eastern Association. Both lists can be found in the To Kill a King Supplement for Pike and Shotte.
