Ġgantija Temples

The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ġgantija is a monumental complex made up of two megalithic temples on the island of Gozo in Malta. It lies on a high plateau in the village of Xagħra close to several other temple period sites.

In this video I talk about Ġgantija's layout, features and finds. Ġgantija was just one ritual centre in a rich landscape where the Neolithic inhabitants of the islands invested enormous time and resources in multiple megalithic sanctuaries.

As one of the most intact temples complexes with a beautiful view and impressive buildings, Ġgantija is a great place to look for clues about the beliefs and practices of the ancient megalith builders.
