North Sydney Recycling - Hopper POV

In early December 2021 I finally secured a job picking up bins which was something I had been looking forward to for years. Had finished my final school exam and was on the back of a garbage truck the very next day! I started out with one of the subbies for URM, collecting the garbage, recycle, clean up and greens from multiple suburbs in North Sydney council. Greens and clean up being done on alternating fortnights on Mondays and the other four days i’m doing one or two loads of garbage followed by a full load of recycling.

A few months ago I thought I would throw the camera on the truck and get some footage of me and my loader Chaz throwing the yellow tops on a Wednesday morning in Neutral Bay. I have another video from the morning picking up the garbage which I’ll have to save for another day. I also had an opportunity to put the camera on the old Scania whilst picking up greens but I didn’t follow through… absolutely spewing I didn’t! Although The Australian Garbologists have a video of me throwing the reds on said Scania.
