2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L Series III Obsidian POV test drive, highway drive using adaptive cruise control and steering assist, light off road, review.

The Waggoner and, the luxury Grand Wagoneer that you see here, are Jeep’s reentry to the segment of full-size, body-on frame SUVs, which are doing better than ever, and given the brand’s experience building SUVs, it was kind of logical to release a competitor to domestic rivals from Ford and GM.

The Wagoneers, built on the same frame used by RAM trucks, are offered in standard or long wheel base configuration. You get a double wishbone setup up front and a five-link independent suspension in the back, that can be combined with Quadra-lift air suspension.

As of engines, during the first two model years of the Wagoneer lineup offered V8s, but they’re gone, and in 2023 8-cylinder units were replaced with twin-turbo straight-6’s, producing 420-hp in the Wagoneer and 510-hp in the Grand Wagoneer. 8-speed automatic transmission is standard across the board, and 4 wheel drive variants give you a two speed transfer case with open front diff and e-LSD in the back
