Our mission is focused on the concept of “community policing” with the goal to improve quality of life for the community, our officers lives included, through a team-based style, strong community partnerships, and an intelligent problem-solving approach.

Our outreach extends beyond traffic stops and investigation. Officers regularly have the opportunity to participate in positive community activities including our holiday-grant sponsored Shop with a Cop program, helping kids pick out holiday presents for their families, fitting free helmets for kiddos at the Officer Lee Newbill Safety Fair, or doing car seats checks and providing free car seats to those in need to make sure our smallest community members stay safe. We’re always open to new ideas on how to reach out to the community as well.

All members of the agency have an impact on the direction of the department. We get the importance of buy-in at all levels of an organization. We also know that throughout the ranks each member is a professional and brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to the job at hand. This ties in directly to our work to enhance the positive view of law enforcement in our community. This team approach is key to not only serving our community, but in driving the internal work of the department as well, and results in a cooperative yet independent atmosphere. We work hard to let the professionals at any level do their work as they often have the most experience and can provide the best information related to the task at hand.
