The Global China Interview Series: China-Africa relations

Описание к видео The Global China Interview Series: China-Africa relations

China have had strategic relations with African countries for almost two decades. The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) could arguably play a major role in industrialization and economic transformation in Africa. Will China-Africa cooperation generate more resources for economic growth and development on the continent? Or will Africa be plunged into a debt trap by Chinese loans? Ph.D. in International Development Studies Johanna Malm discusses China-Africa relations in connection to the BRI, the debt trap narrative, and the spread of authoritarianism in Africa.

'The Global China Interview Series’ is UI’s new series of films on China’s global ambitions. It is done in cooperation with Stockholm Observatory for Global China and is produced by Fjärde Uppgiften.
