Paul Devens - Deflection: Intro in Situ Live Archives (40 year anniversary)

Exactly 40 years after the first sounds of Intro in Situ the impressive work Deflection by Paul Devens was ceremonially played. In the amazingly beautiful Bergportaal of the oldest church of the Netherlands, all kinds of percussive instruments were toggled by surprisingly precise mechanics developed by Paul Devens. Among others, the rhythms were subtracted from the poetry of Chairil Anwar, a poet within the movement for an independent Indonesia.
We were honored with the presence of the Mayor of Maastricht who lead us towards our 40 years anniversary moment. We were glad to have such an attentive audience through the whole of the weekend. As you can see also tourists visiting the Sint-Servaasbasiliek could not help themselves but opening the massive doors of the Bergportaal to get a glimpse of this special moment.
