Gorillaz es una banda virtual inglesa creada en 1998 por Damon Albarn y Jamie Hewlett. La mayoría de sus canciones junto con todo su universo ficticio, se presentan a través de vídeos musicales animados, de animación tradicional y animación computadora, entrevistas y pequeños cortos animados. En la realidad, Albarn es el único miembro permanente de la banda. El productor y ejecutivo Remi Kabaka Jr. empezaría a colaborar con el grupo en 2016 después de proveer por varios años la voz de Russel Hobbs y sería nombrado miembro oficial junto a Albarn y Hewlett en 2019 en el documental de Gorillaz, "Gorillaz: Reject False Icons".
"Clint Eastwood" es el sencillo debut de Gorillaz y a su vez, la quinta canción del álbum debut de la banda, lanzado en marzo de 2001. Es una mezcla de rock alternativo y rap, con sampleos de la banda sonora de la película "El bueno, el feo y el malo" compuesta por Ennio Morricone, donde curiosamente aparece Clint Eastwood.
¿De qué trata la canción? A lo largo de la canción se menciona la intrínseca belleza presente en todo el mundo, pero también se señalan los diversos problemas; todo ello retratado a través de la parte rapeada. Mientras, en el coro, se repite que un futuro brillante podría llegar pronto, mas aún no llega.
