Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) is an opera composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with a libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder. It premiered on 30 September 1791 in Vienna, two months before Mozart's death, and has since become a staple of the opera repertoire.

The opera is a fairy tale that follows the journey of the prince Tamino as he attempts to rescue the princess Pamina with the help of the bird catcher Papageno.

The duet for Papageno and Papagena is one of the comic highlights of the opera and takes place in the second act, near the end of the opera. Papageno, who has been searching for his true love, finally meets Papagena and the two sing a joyful duet in which they express their love and delight in finding each other. The duet is lighthearted and playful, showcasing Mozart's ability to create memorable and entertaining music for even the most secondary of characters.
