न्यायाधीश आलोचना के मामले में बड़े छुईमुई होते हैं। उन्हें लगता है कि न्यायाधीश पद की शपथ लेते ही वे आलोचना से परे हो गए हैं। इतना ही नहीं उन्हें यह मुग़ालता भी हो जाता है कि उनकी आलोचना का मतलब न्यायपालिका की की स्वतंत्रता पर हमला है। यह मुग़ालता उन्हें पद पर रहते हुए तो रहता ही है लेकिन पद से हटने के बाद भी वे इसी ख्याली दुनिया में रहते है। उन्हें लगता है कि वे राजनीति के क्षेत्रों पदार्पण करें तो उन्हें सामान्यतः राजनेताओं की तरह न देखा जाए । यानि उनकी विशिष्टता का भाव बना रहे। इसी धारणा के साथ ही सुदर्शन रेड्डी उप राष्ट्रपति पद के चुनाव में विपक्षी दलों के उम्मीदवार बनकर मैदान में आ गए। सिर मुँड़ाते ही ओले पड़ने लगे तो न्यायपालिका की स्वतंत्रता की दुहाई देने लगे। पर गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने उन्हें बता दिया कि यह खेल तो खेल के नियमों के अनुसार ही खेलना पड़ेगा ।
