This is a very common question among students at the college and university level: "Should I take co-op?"

Now for those that don't know, Co-op is short for "Co-operative Education" and it's a program where students can take a semester off classes, get paid industry work experience, all while getting school credit. It's a very popular program and more and more institutions are integrating co-op into their schools.

I asked the question myself, as I was debating whether I should take the program, thus prolonging my time in school, or just get my degree and get the heck out of university as soon as possible. I ended up taking the co-op program and am very glad I did. In fact, the company i'm working for right now hired me on as a co-op student!
