THREDUP Mystery Designer Rescue Box 4 piece for $450 Buyer Beware UPDATE

Disclaimer. I am a reseller and not an influencer. I bought this box to hopefully make a profit.

I purchased a $450 designer box from THREDUP that popped up the 1st week of May 2024. The description of the box read, “Score big on deeply discounted designer items. Can include clothing, handbags, shoes, and accessories.” Everything was in great condition and did not need much cleaning. The Versace sunglasses are twisted and do not sit square on the face.


I currently resell on EBay and Poshmark so my perspective is from that vantage point.
My opinion is Buyer Beware! HIGH RISK. LOW REWARD. You can do better on other boxes.

The individual prices below total $850 (update below) and are very optimistic asking prices. I need to get LUCKY to make my money back. I might make $100 after fees but before taxes…if I do get lucky and everything sells at the top range of comps. I am guessing that I am going to break even or lose money.

I have been reselling since 1995 including my local marketplace and online. I am a personal property appraiser and can usually get very close to predicting the total value of the contents of a box and even the entire contents of a house. There really did need to be a LV or similar caliber product in these boxes to justify their cost.

Christian Louboutin Marpelissimo Nude Pumps, sz 39. $399. Update: Sold for $305.24 and earnings after all fees $258.97.
Burberry Black Quilted Ashurst Jacket sz Med. $199. Sold for $249.45.and earnings after all fees $191.34.
Ralph Lauren Alligator Corset belt sz 28. $150
Versace Frames Only, with case, Mod 3153 944 sz 51[]16 135. $100. Discovered damage. New value $0. Frames are twisted. I will try to heat and twist back to square.
