Creating a round edge on aluminum with the Bevel Mite® ABIS-06 beveling machine.

The life span of steel structures can be extended by galvanizing or coating the steel components. The coating needs to be applied well in order to offer the best protection against corrosion/rust. Coating or paint cannot adhere well on sharp edges, because coating tends to withdraw itself from the edges. Therefore, sharp edges need to be rounded first with at least radius 2 mm.

Rounding can be done with an angle grinder and grinding disc. However, this is labour intensive, produces a lot of dust and the end result is never completely smooth. By choosing a proper radius cutter to do the job, making a rounded edge is fast and easy.
