It was in the 1930s, the Art Deco period. India was part of the British colony. The British officers who were working in India, played a lots with a very intense sport called Polo. But every time they swung the marteau (polo club) they would break the watch dial. So it was in 1930 that Mr. Jaeger-LeCoultre went to India on a business trip. When he met them, they asked this question, if there is a possibility that he can solve this problem. That's how this great collection was created.
