Turkey: Moment fresh earthquake strikes during live news broadcast

The moment of a fresh earthquake in Hatay, Turkey was caught on TV on Monday as Haberturk reporters were live from the ground.

Reporters were seen holding onto each other as magnitude 6.3 quake hit the region.

"It trembles. It still continues. We could barely stand up," one reporter said while the live broadcast signal dropped amid the tremors.

Uniformed soldiers rushed to the scene after the first shock of the quake, checking rubbles and damaged buildings which were standing after the earlier disaster in February.

Monday's quake, this time with a magnitude of 6.3, was centred near the southern Turkish city of Antakya and was felt in Syria, Egypt and Lebanon.
It struck at a depth of just 1.2 miles, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said, potentially magnifying its impact at ground level.
