Today, we are replacing the Active Grill Motor on a 2016 VW Jetta. If you are getting a Check Engine light with the DTC error code P05A0 “Active Grille Air Shutter "A" Stuck On” then your motor is bad and will need to be replaced.

Follow our step-by-step tutorial on how to access the active grill motor and replace it for a fraction of the cost of buying the entire grill assembly. The motor is less than $60 whereas the entire grill assembly is over $500.

T20 Torx socket
T25 Torx socket
¼ drive ratchet
3/8 drive ratchet
Flathead screwdriver
Silicon spray/lube
