Hello YouTube. In one of my post popular videos a took a look at the 3TB Seagate USB 3.0 Expansion Drive. Today I’ve managed to get my hands on the 5TB version. So lets take a look inside and see if there are any differences. The box looks exactly the same, highlighting its 5TB capacity, it’s USB 3 functionality, it’s 36mm design and the fact it works with Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8. From my previous videos, we do know that these drives are compatible with Mac OS X and just need to be reformatted. On the back we just have a short product description in multiple languages. Without any further due, let’s get into the box by breaking the Seagate seal and removing the cellophane wrapper. A knife may not be the safest tool to use. Once we have opened the box, we can first pull out our accessories carton. Next we can slowly turn the box upside down and the hard drive slips out like so along with a quick start guide telling you how to use the product. Inside the accessories carton we have our USB 3, USB A to Micro USB B connector which we’re going to need to connect the hard drive to our computer. Remember USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports. Next we have our UK power adapter for our transformer as we are in the UK. Followed by the European variant, and finally the transformer itself. The last thing we have is the hard drive itself which is aesthetically identical to the 3TB variant.
