Cracking the whip against TSRTC employees, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday issued a stern warning to them stating that any employee who takes part in the proposed strike called for by the unions should be prepared to lose his job. Rao described the call for strike by the unions as akin to committing suicide and urged the employees not to take part in it. He also said if at all the strike does come into effect, this would be the last ever strike in the Corporation. “Only those who are willing to lose their jobs should join the strikeChief Minister said the goal of the government was public good and the employees should bear this fact before they take any decision. He also blamed union leaders of attempting to drown the RTC completely and called on the employees not to fall for what the unions were telling them.  employees who understand that RTC, with its 53,000 employees, belongs to four crore people of Telangana and see through the union leaders’ plans, should inform the management of their willingness to continue working and not take part in the proposed strike.  TSRTC employees union issued a strike notice and warned that no buses would ply anywhere in the State beginning midnight of June 10. The strike is to officially begin on June 11. Rao, who chaired a high-level meeting at Pragathi Bhavan to discuss the proposed strike and alternate arrangements to be made in the event of the strike happening, said the unions, with their laxity, were driving the TSRTC into losses. It is not right on the part of the unions to take such actions with the selfish aim of winning elections and putting If the government were to accept the union’s unreasonable demands that include a 25 per cent interim relief and 50 per cent fitment, then it would add an additional burden of Rs 1,400 crore a year on the RTC management.
