Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has called for the death penalty for any migrant who kills an American citizen.

The former US president is holding a rally at Madison Square Garden in New York.

“If they [illegal immigrants] come back into our country, it’s an automatic 10 years in jail with no possibility of parole,” Mr Trump said.

“I’m hereby calling for the death penalty for any migrant that kills an American citizen or law enforcement officer.”
