The Five Step Method - Math Modelling | Lecture 1

Описание к видео The Five Step Method - Math Modelling | Lecture 1

In our first lecture on mathematical modelling, we introduce the five step method of Mark Meerschaert. These steps serve a guiding procedure when attempting to solve a modelling problem and will be carried with us throughout the course. To illustrate the application of the five step method, we work through a simple problem of goggles falling from a ski lift. We begin with a number of assumptions that make the problem simple, but likely unrealistic. We then loosen some of the assumptions to make the problem more realistic, but also harder to solve.

This course is taught by Jason Bramburger for Concordia University.
