Well ... I tried to repair the defective part but, I ended up having to purchase a new part and replace the defective part because the symptoms became even worse.

Initially the issue started with random rough idles at startup and progressed to a Check Engine Light with a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P-0171. After a repair of the defective part failed the vehicle threw a second code for high idle and began to whistle like a banshee.

New part was installed and now, only the Permanent Code(s) need to be deleted by the car's own check system.
