Parliament Kills Farm Laws: Farm Laws Bill Passed In Parliament; Opposition Call For Debate Ignored

A year and two months after the President gave assent to the three contentious farm laws, the Parliament today passed a Bill to repeal them, a demand kept alive by the farmers and opposition parties alike for the past year.

The three Bills that stand repealed now are: Farmers` Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, Farmers' (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill 2020.
