Ewaso Nyiro River Camel Caravan 2024

This year's Ewaso Nyiro Camel Caravan, held from 6th to 9th August 2024, brought together 246 participants from Samburu, Laikipia, Isiolo, and Nyandarua counties. The event, hosted at Kipsing in Isiolo County, focused on promoting peaceful coexistence, environmental conservation, and the protection of the Ewaso Nyiro River ecosystem. Participants, including elders, women, youth, and WRUAs, engaged in activities like the Indigenous Communities Food Festival, traditional dances, and discussions on peacebuilding and resource management. This year’s event highlighted the vital role of Indigenous knowledge, cross-community collaboration, and sustainable solutions for the region's environmental and socio-economic challenges.
