The most trending debate around the world is “Vote at 16” as the general elections are approaching (in 2019 and 2020) in major countries like USA, India, European Union, etc.

As the world is changing, there is a need to re-look at all our social systems for better reforms to make democracy more effective.

In this context, as Democracy defined (by Abraham Lincoln) - “Government of the people, by the people, for the people”. Since government is formed through electoral process by the people of that nation, wide age groups and more numbers of citizens participation will certainly strengthen the democracy, provided all citizens, who has voting right, are better informed about the situations in the countries.

Younger generation, (16-year age group), becoming more smarter and, as per statistic and research, having the same knowledge of 18 years old, due to the increased literacy rate, better education, improved IQ levels, accessibility to internet, increased awareness due to exposure to media and Intense interaction on social media. Therefore, the 16-year-old voting may make sense.

Hence, there is a need for a debate exhaustive debate on 16 for Democracy.
