The ProCo Rat was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1978 and has remained in production ever since. It is a very aggressive form of distortion. You either love it or you hate it. I stopped using it years ago so I thought I would revisit this guitar pedal to see if I could find a use for it today. I run the rat pedal through my home studio and record it over some backing tracks. I then reveal whether or not I would buy it all over again.

This is a serious distortion pedal, unlike an overdrive pedal, this thing produces sheer terror. Though harnessed right, it certainly creates some distinctive guitar tones. Do you like how it sounds? Check out this video on my Vintage Pro Co Rat Distortion Pedal to find out.
