I am honestly shocked at how much this stage has transformed over the last several months. To be honest, this is one of my favorite stages to have built in my entire GD career, and it is an absolute honor to be releasing this to the GD community in only a little over a week.

After releasing Isolated back in 2022, I wasn’t sure if I had it in me to create another level. The time it took to create anything for me was ridiculous, and I was just beginning to finish up college. Plus, creating ended up taking an emotional toll on me. Even though it is just simple designs, the truth is that I was building something that had meaning to me and something that I truly felt. The problem in 2022 was that I was still thinking about some of my toughest years in life, and just building through that emotion became so much more difficult.

Rude Awakening represents not only an emotional moment for me as a creator, but something that really means something to me personally. The ability to break down the walls of my past and an attempt to rebuild for my future. Some of the most difficult years of my life have truly held with me for so long. With this level, I choose to begin to let the past go. Now, I aim to build for my future.

As for difficulty, Rude Awakening isn’t too hard of a demon level (probably Easy Demon), but it is definitely one of the more difficult levels I have personally released. And ironically, this isn’t because of the camera controls - the stage has a lot more skill involved than some of my other demons that I have released in the game. The skill required to complete this stage isn’t too bad, but there will be a few sections of know-how in completing this stage.
