Hi, this is Scott with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at and installing our Draw-Tite hitch on our 2025 Hyundai Palisade. Our Draw-Tite hitch on our Palisade looks pretty good. It actually has a hidden cross tube design so you're not gonna see any tubes hanging down. All you're really gonna see is just the receiver portion hanging down out of the bottom of the vehicle, is gonna be a black finish, so it kind of hides really well underneath of our vehicle and it's gonna be a powder coat so it's gonna hold up really well against corrosion and scratches. So it's a really durable finish that'll hold up for a long time.

A Hyundai Palisade is really popular vehicle, so this is just gonna add to your ability to haul more things on the back of it like your bike carriers or your cargo carriers. So that's a really nice option. It'll also give the ability to do a little bit of light towing as well. This hitch is gonna have a 5/8 pinhole opening, so that's gonna lock in any of your accessories that you have on the back. Now this one will not come with a pin and clip so you may want to pick one up here etrailer.

Another nice option for these is going to be a locking pin so that way when you're out on the bike trail and you have your bike rack on the back, you'll be able to lock that in place so no one can take that while you're down the trail. This hitch is also gonna have welded on safety chain loops. Those are gonna accommodate either your S style loops or your clevis style hooks really easily. So that's gonna set you up nice for your trailer towing needs. As far as measurements go, from the center of the pinhole out to the edge of the bumper, we're looking at right around 3 1/2 inches.

And with that measurement you'll be able to decide if any of your accessories that stow away or fold up, we'll make any contact with the back of the vehicle. Now from the bottom of our hitch to the ground, we're looking at 14 inches. And with that measurement you'll be able to decide if you need any rise of the shank of like your bike racks or your cargo carriers for clearance. As far as our weights go for this hitch, we're gonna have a tongue weight rating of 500 pounds and that's gonna be the weight pushing down on the lower section of your receiver. Now with that, that's gonna be the combination of your bike rack with your bikes on there or your cargo carriers loaded down with all of your gear.

Now for a trailer weight rating, we're looking at a gross trailer weight rating of 5,000 pounds. That's gonna be the weight of your trailer and everything that you have loaded on it. Now this is weight distribution capable, so that's gonna up your tongue weight rating to 750 pounds and it's gonna up your trailer towing weight to 6,000 pounds. Now it's always a good idea to take a look at your owner's manual and make sure you don't exceed any of your maximum towing capacities in there. So as a rule of thumb, it's best to go with the lowest number between your hitch and your owner's manual. As far as installation goes, we did a Curt on this one and I really like the way the Curt installed and I kind of like the way it looks a little bit better than this one. To start our installation, we're gonna have our hatch opened up and in the back we lifted up our cargo door here and this is gonna be our flooring. We just lifted that up. Now down below that, in the passenger side, you're gonna have this little screw little plastic plug. This wanna take a flat head and we're gonna get that backed out. We'll get that outta the way. Now down inside there you're gonna have a 21 millimeter nut. What we're doing is we just wanna back this off 'cause we need to drop our spare tire out of the way.
