We visited Nandgaon, Barsana, and finished our Govardhan Parikrama on the second day of our Mathura Vrindavan tour. We reserved a little car for the entire day. Around eight in the morning, we set out on our journey. Our first stop was Nandgaon, the childhood residence of Sri Krishna. Next, we travelled to the Barsana. We had to hike up the Bhanugarh hill in order to access the Radha Rani Temple in Barsana. While we travelled to Govardhan, we used a Toto rickshaw to complete the Govardhan Parikrama. The entire tour lasted about 8 hours, and the cost for the car reservation was Rs. 2500. Around 4:00 pm, when the tour was through, we arrived in Vrindavan.

Hindu traditions claim that Lord Krishna lived in Nandgaon for seven years, together with his foster parents Nanda Baba and Yashoda, after Shandilya Muni had cursed the demons of Kansa to turn to stone if they entered Nandisvara Hill (Nandgaon). The house was constructed atop a big hill by the village chief Nanda Baba to guard Lord Krishna from demons dispatched by King Kansa. Because of the chaos brought on by demons attempting to assassinate Krishna, Nanda Maharaja and other gwalas made the decision to relocate from Gokul to this location. Due to its connection to Lord Krishna, Nandgaon is a significant religious and tourism attraction. Thousands of people visit the area every year during Holi to take in the magnificent Lathmar Holi celebration.
The Shriji temple at Barsana, which is situated on the Bhanugarh hill, is thought to be 5000 years old. The hill was given the name Vrishbhanu by Shri Radha Rani's father. Due to its devotion to Radha-Krishna, Barsana is well known all over the world. As a form of pilgrimage, people from all over the world come to the location. The location where Shri Radha Rani was raised among her friends is said to be Barsana. Shri Radha's beloved Shri Krishna used to visit Barsana to see her. Legend has it that Nand Maharaj Ji, the father of Shri Krishna, and Vrishbhanu Maharaj, the father of Shri Radha, were close friends and formerly resided in Gokul and Rawal, respectively. Nand Maharaj and Vrishbhanu both moved to Nandgaon and Barsana as a result of the horrors committed by Kansa. Bhanugarh Hill, where the current temple is located, was home to Radha Rani since Vrishbhanu lived there. According to legend, Krishna would visit Barsana to play Holi with Shri Radha Rani. The villagers still observe this practise in a religious manner. Even today, the guys from Nandgaon travel to Barsana to play Holi with the local women. People travel here to witness this soul-stirring celebration and to celebrate Holi. The temple radiates soulful spiritual energies throughout the year, which intensify on joyous occasions like Holi and Radhashtmi.
Govardhan Parvat, a hill that is thought to have been raised by Lord Krishna on his finger, is a sacred site in the Uttar Pradeshi state. Devotees from all over the world travel to this location daily to perform the parikrama of the hill. However, on the holy days of Guru Purnima and Govardhan Puja, a sizable crowd can be seen. This parikrama is around 21 km long and takes 5–6 hours to complete. The route begins at Manasi-Ganga Kund and leads to Radha Kund Village, where devotees are taken to the parikrama path along Vrindavan Road. A number of significant holy sites are visited on the way to this extremely sacred pilgrimage in Uttar Pradesh, including Radha Kund, Shyam Kund, Daan Ghati Mandir, Mukharvind, Kusuma Sarovar, Rinamochana, and Puchari etc.
