Arctic Ring of Life at the Detroit Zoo. Filmed June 7, 2023.

On potentially our most spectacular and inspiring adventure so far, we’re diving into the cold with the Detroit Zoo’s Arctic Ring of Life. Our journey begins in along the grassy Tundra, where we’ll view Polar Bears in the summertime habitat, while passing by impressive Inuit structures. Our voyage turns toward the coast, where we’ll meet frolicking Southern Sea Otters. From there we’re venturing under the sea and through the spectacle that is the Polar Passage Tunnel, after which we emerge on pack ice, a Polar Bears wintertime domain. Here, we’ll meet the individual Polar Bears who have lived in the Arctic Ring of Life in recent years and leave off with a message on the struggles their wild counterparts are facing due to Global Warming. Through all of this we will come to understand why the Arctic Ring of Life is revered as a pioneer in zoo exhibitory.
