It always puts a smile on my face, seeing that number grow :) This video is one I've been thinking about for a long time. I really love illuminating a character's story with a song, not just going where the lyrics take me (though that's fun too!). This video gave me a unique opportunity to take a snapshot of the present life of Sam, and cue in his story from there, from the beginning, and lead up to the present again.

His character is the one I first connected with on spn (the others followed, but Sam was the first). He has shattered into a million pieces again and again -- all the king's horses and men (dean, cas, bobby, himself...) have tried to put him back together, but he still feels broken. But his mom coming back kind of brought his story to a full circle. She was behind the very first thing, the whole demon blood ordeal. Now she's here. Except...she left.

I was gonna leave it on the happy quote about her filling in the biggest blank but I couldn't resist! My horrible mind wanted to make it sad sorry o.O
