In this video we measure the coherence of a distributed soft real-time software system synchronized over Precision Time Protocol. Two terminal devices are connected over the network to a central. The central generates synchronous commands to both units which are executed on the basis of PTP-synchronized local clocks. The Hewlett-Packard 53310A Modulation Domain Analyzer allows quick and convenient inspection of the interval between the pulses generated by the terminal units.

There are certainly many ways to skin a cat but I find the 53310A provides a degree of intuitiveness not found on many modern counters.
