In today's video, we're discussing a subject I wanted to tackle for a very long time and I have actually made a video a while ago but never went around editing and uploading it - The Corellium. Corellium is a platform that allows one to create, configure and use virtual iOS devices with real iOS running on them for security research or jailbreak development with a very big range of iOS versions supported. The #Corellium platform allows a device to be created and configured with any #iOS 10 up to iOS 12.x version installed, custom kernels, custom ramdisk, custom hashes added to the AMFI Trust Cache, boot arguments and other changes that disable iOS security mechanisms and allow researchers to find iOS vulnerabilities or to test their jailbreak tools or exploits without risking a real device.

This is a total game changer in the iOS and #Jailbreak community because with this, there is no longer a need for physical devices for a developer to be able to test his jailbreak and if they have to test something that is potentially dangerous (e.g can result in a bootloop), they can do the test in Corellium. If they bootloop a Corellium device, no big deal, they can remove it from the platform and build a new one since the devices are virtual.

Do not get me wrong, this is not a simulator - it runs legit iOS code which makes it very good for finding vulnerabilities, testing jailbreak code and even testing normal iOS applications from Xcode. It also supports on-demand Kernel Debugging which hasn't been possible on iOS devices for quite a while now.

For the moment, Corellium is available by invitation but some jailbreak teams like the Electra already have access and they were able to perform tests on Corellium back when Electra has been developed.
