Siddhi Sagar Prajapti also known as Kuma Sagar is a popular musician loved for his melodious songs like Oh Champa, Furfuri, A Mai Re, Chahare Sari, Bajeko Bajhang, Chameli Phoola etc. At the 54th session of The Storyyellers, he shared his personal experiences and took us on a journey through his musical evolution, detailing how he explored and experimented with different genres.

During childhood he was never much interested in studies but education was always the top priority in his household. Rather, watching his brothers in his neighborhood play guitar used to spark his desire to learn the instrument. He learned to play the guitar by spending time with his seniors. However, practicing at home became a challenge since there was no guitar available. One day, he heard that someone was selling their guitar, so he bought it on credit. This purchase marked the beginning of his musical journey, but it also led him to spend less time at home because he was not allowed to practice there.

In his school years, he often skipped classes, attending only five subjects before sneaking out for what he calls “Half-bunk”. He even got involved in gang fights, which led to serious injuries. When his parents found out, they put him in "Home Rehab," forcing him to confront his choices. It was then that he realized how much he had strayed from the right path. Sagar was no longer allowed to go out, but seeing his desperation, his father bought him an electric guitar.

Later, he formed a band with his friends and they practiced metal songs relentlessly. Their loud practice sessions often disturbed the neighbors. His family didn't support his interest in metal music, his father would often question, and “Will this pay your bills”? And he didn’t have any answers at that time.

He had been following Vivek Waiba on YouTube and was inspired by his presence on Voice of Nepal. He also decided to give an audition and a year later that opportunity came around. After a series of unexpected events, he was finally selected for Voice of Nepal. Overwhelmed with joy, he immediately called his parents. Later, when he saw them recording a video of him on the stage, he couldn't hold back his tears. Before, he used to believe that music was all about power and rage. With this mindset, he thought he would perform on the Voice of Nepal stage with that same energy. However, once he got there, he realized he had to sing a completely different type of song—Maya ko Dori by Deepak Bajracharya, from a completely different genre.
