Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway Fall Trains - October 2022

This is a quick little video of some footage I haven't used yet of the Reading & Northern's Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway excursions during the beginning of Fall 2022. The very popular LGSR excursions operate between Jim Thorpe and Old Penn Haven, deep within the Lehigh Gorge and back, with most, if not all trips during the peak fall foliage season selling out, and with those spectacular views, it is easy to see why! This train typically runs with RBMN GP38-2 2013 for power, but a second locomotive, SD40-2 3059 was used during the 2022 season to keep things running smoothly between origination and destination. This trip highlights some LGSR action during two different Saturdays we were in the area chasing the all-day excursions from Reading, offering some nice sights and sounds of the Lehigh Gorge in the fall.
