The Argus C-44 (c-forty-four) was, arguably, the pinnacle of Argus camera development. It offered interchangeable lenses, the kit 50mm of which was designed by a computer, that allowed the small, ergonomic rangefinder body to meet a significant number of needs. It lacked some features but also packed some innovative designs, like the film rewind release performed by lifting the rewind knob instead of pushing a button. Decidedly the most attractive Argus camera, the C-44 is one that still looks good, carries well, and can be used readily today.
