The BuiltEnvironment(BE)Well pod meeting in May featured two excellent scholars and advocates who spoke about current projects related to transit and health. Juan Matute (Deputy Director of the UCLA Institute of Transportation Studies) presented current efforts to improve the Santa Monica Hospital to UCLA Hospital corridor through safe streets advocacy planning. Madeline Brozen (Deputy Director of the UCLA Lewis Center for Regional Policy Studies) presented a recent study that evaluated the impacts of extreme heat on LA County bus shelters.
