- the Schlachte, 🏞 a promenade along the bank of the River Weser. Once one of the city's harbours, now popular for its restaurants, beer gardens and river boats.

- the beautiful, medieval Schnoor 🏰neighbourhood. It owes its name to old handicrafts associated with shipping, an area in which ropes and cables were produced (string = (Schnur) Schnoor)
