After the uchiha massacre, Itachi Uchiha joined the Akatsuki with the intention of spying on the organization from within and protecting the hidden leaf village while doing so. Despite being labeled an S Rank criminal, Itachi Uchiha never looked at himself as any less than a a konoha shinobi. However, how different would the story be if Akatsuki figured out that Itachi was a spy?

What would happen if Obito was forced to admit to Pain that he had suspicions that Itachi was spying on Akatsuki and still loyal to Konoha? What would happen to Sasuke? Would the Akatsuki hunt down Itachi or could Itachi possibly defeat all of the Akatsuki members in separate one on one or one versus two battles?
