Spiti Odyssey | Day 6: Tabo to Reckong Peo | Chase the Horizon. Live the Adventure.

Day 6: 24th May 2024

The Spiti Odyssey takes a reflective turn as we head back from Tabo to Reckong Peo. Join us on this adventurous sixth day as we chase the horizon and live the adventure, appreciating the roads and curves we now know so well.

Today's ride covers approximately 150 kilometers, taking us back through the familiar yet stunning landscapes of Spiti Valley. The route offers a mix of smooth tarmac and winding mountain roads, providing both challenges and breathtaking views.

Leaving Tabo in the morning, we began our journey back with a newfound appreciation for the roads and curves we had mastered. The familiarity allowed us to enjoy the ride even more, and we stopped frequently to capture the beauty around us. The camaraderie among riders, enhanced by tailing each other, created a sense of unity and reduced wind resistance, making the ride more enjoyable.

One of the day's notable events was when one of our riders realized he had left his phone behind after we had been shooting pictures. It took him three hours to realize it was missing, prompting him to ride back 35 kilometers to retrieve it. Fortunately, he found his phone, turning a potential disaster into a moment of relief and joy. Meanwhile, we took advantage of the pause to capture stunning drone shots of the surrounding landscapes.

The day's ride was filled with moments of fun and camaraderie. Despite the unexpected detour, the unity and support among the riders were stronger than ever. We ended up reaching our destination, Reckong Peo, late in the evening around 9 PM, tired but satisfied with the day's adventures.

-Arrival in Reckong Peo late in the evening, reflecting on the day's adventures
