When you scan an image into the computer it scans in at thousands or millions of colors. In this lesson I will show you how to take this large amount of colors and reduce them to the most minimal amount of colors that best represent your textile design. This process is called Color reduction. The purpose of color reduction is to prepare a design that the colors in the design can be easily changed.
Different designs may have to be color reduced in slightly different ways. However, with a little patience and practice, the steps I show you in this lesson will eventually become second nature to you.
