Halvergate Marshes 1981

Описание к видео Halvergate Marshes 1981

The Halvergate Marshes are a large area of traditional grazing marshes occupying an area of approximately ten square miles forming a rough triangle, extending between Acle, Great Yarmouth and Reedham in Norfolk.

This archive film describes the unique character of the Halvergate Marshes and the threats that were facing them in 1981 from proposals to turn some areas over to arable farming.

Several mill towers are visible in the film. Stracey Arms Drainage Mill is mentioned and Berney Arms mill appears briefly at about 7 minutes.
