Woodturning - 52 Week Bowl Turning Challenge #11 - Western Red Cedar

Now this little fella was something different to what I'm used to. Ive had some decent chunks of WRC floating around the shed for the last decade or so waiting for a good project to throw it at. I thought utilizing some for this project could be fun. I don't turn softwood very often, apart from practice bits of standard pine I think Ive only ever turned it once before. Its not hugely different, but there are some things that work slightly differently. Sharp chisels especially on endgrain to minimise the tear-out was a must, also have to be super gentle when sanding. I tried a different finish on this bowl. which didn't go down too well on this particular experiment, so back to the ol faithful. Anyway, really happy with this. Great wall thickness and general look. Hope you enjoy!
