Описание к видео Shirley Eikhard - It Takes Time (1972)

Shirley Eikhard was born in Sackville New Brunswick 1955, to a musical family and quickly took up the mantle. Her father played guitar and bass in a number of country groups while she grew up, her mother was a renowned Maritime fiddler. She began writing songs and playing guitar upon moving to Oshawa, Ontario with her family when she was 8. Her first public performance was at the age of 12, when she competed in a fiddler's contest in nearby Cobourg. At age 13 she successfully auditioned for the 1969 Mariposa Festival's "New Songwriters' Workshop". At 14, she was the youngest female artist, and youngest Canadian, to ever sign a deal with Capitol Records, who saw promise and wanted to develop her songwriting talents. In 1971, when she was 15, her song "It Takes Time" was recorded by Anne Murray and became a hit in Canada. Eikhard released her debut album the following year, which contained her version of the song. I hope you enjoy!
