Male Magpie comes for a feed; more camera issues, its short but it works - Australian birds

Not turning the camera on is getting to be a habit. Well...I turned it on but didn't start filming. AGAIN! I'm going to have to do better. He caught me by the manure bins and requested a bale – I was happy to oblige – very short visit for a pretty decent-looking bale. She was a no-show again.

So that's three days in a row she either hasn't come (twice) or been scared away by a toad (once). Well, maybe this afternoon.

I wondered if chicks may have hatched when I saw him heading towards a circling raptor - it's usually a sign that chicks have hatched when the male gets super-protective. Nope - he was chasing something at treetop height and didn't climb and scare the raptor away.

I don't know if it was a hawk, eagle, kite so I'm going with the broader "raptor". Right, I've got to get a load of mulch. Cheers.
