A solid SM with a very good potential

This SM is running very well, has a very solid base and the chassis has no visible signs of corrosion. The vehicle is registered and approved to be driven in Sweden. In 2021 it was last approved by the Swedish technical control. According to Swedish law, cars older than 50 years don’t have to be shown to the technical control a second time any more for the rest of their lives.

In 1980 the vehicle was imported to Sweden, where the last owner bought it in 2017, revised and updated the engine. All the well known „weaknesses“ of the SM engine have been sorted out. An electric ignition has been installed and the carburetor was just recently restored.

The SM should get a new paint. The bodywork has to be done, the exhaust has to be exchanged (not leaking at the moment, but it needs to be exchanged soon) and the carpets in the interior should be renewed. The interior otherwise is in a good condition and the leather seats are without cracks or defects and have a nice patina.

The last owner, a car collector, did improve and renovate many details already and was just on his way to get the SM repainted when he unexpectedly passed away this summer. The heirs are selling the car now and want to sell it like it is.

According to the last owner, this SM comes even with a very special story. It is said that Sweden's first "celebrity gangster", Clark Olofsson, was driving in this SM when followed by police men shooting at the car in the mid -70’s and there should still be a 9 mm bullet on the inside of the right front fender, as well as some traces of a bullet on the inside of the right rear fender.
