Vintage Braids with Curls 2 Ways: Milkmaid and Victory Braids

These are my go to quick hairstyles. Easy, elegant and best of all super fast to do! Inspired by 1940s photos of Judy Garland and Rita Hayworth with crown braids and Anna from “Agent Carter”

Set the night before with wet hair or let dry all day. My hair takes about 12 hours to dry so I sleep in mine overnight. I recommend doing these styles wet not a smoother braid, but feel free to do it dry as well if your hair works better that way! Using setting lotion makes the braids last longer, also when you take the braids out after a few days, it makes the braid crinkle pattern more defined. Yes, I do wear these for days! Just cover with a silk scarf or sleeping cap and finesse each morning.

You will need:
Lotta body setting lotion diluted per instructions in spray bottle
Bobby pins
Flat pins
2 tiny sponge rollers (½” or ¼”)
Hairspray of choice (Monet flex medium hold)
Barrettes or hair flowers as desired
Rat tail comb
