For Los Angeles residents in the know, family-owned clothing retailer Greenspan's has been a spot for hard-to-find -- and sometimes dead stock -- clothing items for decades. Movie studios and celebrities have frequented the retail store for decades, whether it was to outfit the cast of an upcoming period film, or if a rapper just wanted to take advantage of their massive selection of Pendleton boardshorts.

If you've heard of Greenspan's, you probably know what they're known for, butyou might not know their story. So, Ballerstatus.com cameras paid the store a visit to speak with third generation owner Evan Greenspan, who currently steers the ship alongside his son, Joshua.

In the clip, Evan tells us about the history of Greenspan's, from it's beginnings in 1928 when it first opened in Watts, before a separate location launched in South Gate and would go on to become an L.A. landmark. He also discusses how they've been able to carve out a niche for themselves and remain in business so many years, and why inmates at San Quentin State Prison love their store.

Greenspan's is located at: 3405 Tweedy Blvd, South Gate, CA. If you're in Los Angeles, definitely pay them a visit. They have one of the largest selections of Pendleton boardshirts in the country, if not the world. And, they carry a number of brands and styles that are nearly impossible to find anywhere else.
